Ryan Kelly is the Deputy Chief of Staff for Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson. Since joining Mayor Iveson’s office shortly after his election, Ryan has been a key strategic advisor on a number of transformative files including downtown revitalization, the Blatchford sustainable community redevelopment plan and a new initiative to transform Edmonton into Canada’s Health City. Ryan was part of the team that worked to develop the City of Edmonton’s Year of Reconciliation goals, including the training of City staff on residential school trauma, building ceremonial spaces and youth leadership. Ryan holds a degree in Political Science from Queen’s University and a diploma in Public Relations from MacEwan University in Edmonton. Prior to serving with Mayor Iveson, he was a partner in a marketing and advertising agency and was the firm’s Creative Director for many years. He is a member of the Make Something Edmonton Board of Directors, a grassroots-led initiative to shape and share Edmonton’s reputation both nationally and internationally. Ryan lives in Edmonton with his wife and two amazing children.
